Making programming easier for people, and the models that code with them.
The Turf Project builds Turflang, a statically typed, ahead-of-time compiled language, along with the compiler, tools and models around it, and studies what they do. Because we own every layer, we can change one and measure what the change does: for a programmer reading an error, and for a model trying to fix it.

All researchWhat we work on
Language design
Turflang itself: syntax, types and semantics chosen so a program says what it means, to the person reading it and to the model writing it.
Compilers and analysis
How the compiler checks a program, from monomorphization to control flow and the sandbox, and how it explains what it found.
Models in the toolchain
Small models that run inside the compiler on the programmer's machine, and what a language can do to make model-written code correct.
Measurement
Benchmarks, oracles and human studies: telling help that looks right from help that is right.
The language
Turflang is public, and so is its compiler.
Every claim made here about the language can be checked against the compiler itself. The guide, reference and source live on the language's own site.
